Cycling is very popular in Flevoland. There is plenty to see and do along the way, but sometimes you just need a place to take a break. To rest. To eat the sandwiches you brought with you. Or because you need something: a toilet, a tyre repair kit, a charger for your electric bike or a water tap, for example. Fortunately, there are various places in Flevoland where these facilities are made available free of charge. You can recognise them by the sign by the road and you can find them below by name as well as by location on the map of Flevoland.
Our bicycle rest stops are specially designed to make life easier for cyclists. They offer you a place to catch your breath, carry out repairs, shelter from the sun, wind or rain, and enjoy the countryside in peace. You are very welcome, whether you have a flat tyre or a flat battery on your electric bike, or simply need a place to rest or use the toilet. And for many other things you may need along the way, such as a first aid kit or fresh water for your bottle. So if you see a bicycle rest stop sign along the road, feel free to use the facilities provided. Free of charge, of course.
In addition to bicycle rest stops, we have something else to make life easier for cyclists: TOPs. These are Tourist Orientation Points, or large columns located at a (free) car park with information about the area and several tips for beautiful cycling and walking routes in the vicinity. There is also almost always a restaurant within walking distance of the TOP, so you can take a break there, have something to eat or use the toilet.
