The Wijngoed Noordpol vineyard in Dronten started in 2024 with 800 vines, surrounded by 17 hectares of orchards. They grow new varieties that thrive in the Dutch climate. This makes it possible to grow grapes in a sustainable way. In 2025, the vineyard expanded to over 4,000 vines, including both previously used and new grape varieties. These grapes enable them to produce a fine range of characterful wines. A further expansion to over 5,000 vines is planned for 2026.

At Wijngoed Noordpol, they not only grow grapes, but also make wine, including sparkling wine. A blend of Souvignier Gris, Seyval Blanc and Sauvignac grapes. These are all pressed using the traditional method, with a basket press. They are then fermented at as constant a temperature as possible, followed by malolactic fermentation. The young wine is then left to mature on the fine lees (sur lie). This gives the wine a fuller flavour and the yeast cells naturally protect the wine from oxidation.
In addition to grapes, you can sometimes see sunflowers growing at Wijngoed Noordpol. In order to utilise land that is not used for grape cultivation and to improve the soil structure, they sowed no fewer than 45,000 sunflower seeds of different varieties and colours in May 2025. In July and August, fun picking days were organised.
