This spring, Groene Pluk nursery in Almere is opening its first tulip-picking garden. From early April to early May, visitors can pick their own bunch of organic tulips here.
The garden features no fewer than 8,000 Flevoland tulip bulbs in various varieties and colours, planted by gardeners Hester van Donkersgoed and Juultje Joosten. When picking, you choose the tulips you like and pull the flower, bulb and all, out of the ground. At home, the tulips can be placed in a vase with the bulb still attached, ensuring they stay fresh for longer.

The tulip picking garden is a cheerful spring activity at Groene Pluk’s organic pick-your-own garden in Almere Poort. As well as flowers, you can also pick up fresh vegetables here. The new harvest season starts in early May, when you can harvest vegetables and herbs yourself throughout the season with a harvest share.
