The Port Route through the Waterloopbos woods guides you past a large number of scale models of hydraulic engineering projects. From the beginning of the 1950s, this is where the Waterloopkundig Laboratorium, the specialists in hydraulics, carried out research into the water management of the Port of Rotterdam, the Libyan oil ports and the Maasvlakte port and industrial areas to name but a few.
The walk is about 3.5 kilometres. Start at the Waterloopbos visitor centre and follow the white arrows.
