Jachtwerf De Voorst in Marknesse is located next to the Voorstersluis lock on the Voorsterbos. Once a boatyard, De Voorst is now mainly a yacht centre. There is room for around 40 boats, to stow and moor. Basic facilities are available such as: shower, toilet, washing machine and a children's playground. Ideal for passers-by who love peace and quiet. There are also around 6 camper van sites available.
De Voorst overlooks the Kadoelermeer, a beautiful view from which to sail in all directions. The small lake was created during the construction of the Noordoostpolder and named after the hamlet of Kadoelen. To get into the Kadoelermeer from the Vollenhovermeer, one has to pass under the movable bridge at Vollenhove. To get into the Zwarte Meer from the Kadoelermeer, one has to pass through the Kadoelersluis lock.
