Zeewolde

Zeewolde lies at the very heart of the Netherlands. One of the most important regional features is the Horsterwold, Western Europe’s largest deciduous forest. Thanks to its location bordering the Wolderwijd lake it also offers a wealth of water sports opportunities.

Water, water and even more water

Paradise

On and around the Wolderwijd bordering lake you will find more water sports than you can shake a stick at. Alternatively, if it’s more your thing, you can spend the whole day just lazing on the beach. Thanks to the gentle shelving, these beaches represent a true paradise for families with small children. An ‘atoll’ has been created near the Woldstrand beach for kids who are a little bit older, from where they can impress with their spectacular diving skills.

Wild safari

silent core

The quietest part of the Horsterwold woods is known as the Stille Kern. The area provides the grazing grounds for a herd of wild Konik horses, so don’t shriek if you suddenly find your path blocked by a herd. Tip: try a wild safari guided by one of the forest rangers.
